What are the objectives of the program?

The Schools Peace Initiative aims to

  • engage young people to think about issues of social justice, peace, and the practise of non-violence.
  • encourage young people to develop projects which make positive changes in their schools and communities
  • enable young people to feel that their actions can make a difference
  • recognise significant projects which promote the benefits of peace with justice and non-violence.

The Schools Peace Iniative is proud to announce that Ada Nicodemou from Home and Away will be the first Schools Peace Initiative Youth Ambassador.

Ada Nicodemou stars as Leah Patterson on Home and Away, head chef at the Diner and a girl with a big heart and an even bigger ability to talk. Ada has twice been nominated for the Gold Logie at the TV Week Logie Awards and is a very popular cast member of this hugely successful Channel 7 TV show.
