Sydney Peace Foundation Scholarship for Study at the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Sydney

Scholarships are for one year, full time study, commencing in March or July semester, for a suitably qualified candidate to complete a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney. The full scholarship will cover the full international tuition fee. The scholarship recipient will be responsible for all travel, accommodation and living costs as well as the purchase of course materials and the payment of compulsory postgraduage union fees.

The scholarship will be rewarded on academic merit and additional criteria as outlined on the application form. (For example, a previous scholarship donor requested that the scholarship be given to a student from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Central or South America or the Middle East.) The scholarship must comply with relevant University EEO policies.

The scholarship is advertised by the University's Research Office News Bulletin and may also be advertised in relevant press.

Applicants must also apply separately for the MA (PACS) program at the University.

A donation may be made of a full scholarship or a half scholarship. Scholarships can also be established for local students. 2005 fees are below:

Full scholarship:
international: $14,772
local: $10,460

Half scholarship:
International: $7,386
Local: $5,230

These figures include tuition, compulsory subscriptions and application fee.

Scholarships may be established in the name of the donor.

For example, in 2004 the Citigroup Scholarship for Peace and Conflict Studies was awarded to a student from Nepal.
